Roku and DoorDash Have Teamed Up for Interactive Food Delivery Ads

Roku and DoorDash have partnered to offer interactive advertisements directly to customers’ TV screens. These ads will prompt customers to enter their cell number through their remote control to receive a promo link with a discount on food delivery from DoorDash. In addition to the ads, eligible Roku account holders will receive six months of free DashPass membership, which offers $0 delivery fees on specific orders. The bulk of Roku’s revenue comes from its platform, including digital advertisements and ad tech, which makes this partnership an opportunity for the company to market itself to marketers and expand its ad reach. On the other hand, DoorDash sees this as an opportunity to attract more restaurants and vendors to its platform.

The new DoorDash spots are not Roku’s first foray into interactive advertisements, and it plans to expand the number of participating vendors. The partnership program is currently limited and only includes Wendy’s as the only DoorDash-affiliated restaurant franchise, but this is expected to change in the coming weeks.
