Sample Questions for Agile Ceremonies
These are questions you can ask during each type of Scrum event to help guide the meeting and ensure it’s productive:
Sprint Planning
- What did we learn at the sprint review and retrospective?
- What is at the top of the product backlog?
- How much product backlog can we complete in the upcoming sprint?
- What outside help will we need to succeed with our plans?
- What’s the most significant risk that may prevent us from completing this sprint?
Daily Standup
- Are we on track with the sprint goal?
- Are we working on the essential items?
- Do we have any new requests?
- What do we still need to learn in this sprint?
- Have we identified any unknown risks?
Sprint Review
- What questions do you have?
- How would you use this product?
- What’s your favourite feature or characteristic of this product?
- What do you hate about this product?
- How can we improve future sprint reviews?
Sprint Retrospective
- What did we do well?
- What didn’t go well?
- What have we learned?
- Does anyone have an “appreciation” to share with another team member?
- Are we in agreement on what action items we will take from this sprint retrospective into the upcoming sprint planning?
