Turkish Airlines says operations are back to normal after a technical glitch.
ANKARA – Turkish Airlines announced on Wednesday that its operations have returned to normalcy after experiencing technical issues with its ticket reservation and booking systems. This led to the cancellation of all flights departing from Istanbul. Yahya Ustun, the senior vice president for media relations, clarified that the disruptions were not due to any cyberattack.
To restore normal operations, the airline canceled all flights departing from Istanbul between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. local time (1600GMT-1900GMT) on Wednesday. The national flag carrier revealed that the interruption in ticketing and reservations resulted from maintenance work to address the technical glitch. Turkish Airlines has committed to compensating for all expenses related to accommodation, refunds, and any other costs arising from the canceled flights.
