Zerocater raises $15M as demand heats for flexible in-office food services.
Zerocater, a business catering and food services startup, has raised $15m in Series C funding to double down on its business with a broader geographical footprint and more artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics to improve its services. Led by Cleveland Avenue, the funds will be used to expand its reach to 10 cities across the US and Canada, develop its AI-powered FoodIQ platform, and improve its digital cafeteria services. The company shed 98% of its business due to Covid-19 but grew significantly in the last 12 months, with a three-fold revenue increase and a rise in headcount from 50 in 2021 to 175 in 2022. Zerocater works with 450 food providers to offer two varieties of service: a “Cloud Cafe” and a “Managed Cafe,” with data science used to create the daily menu.
