Maneki-neko
Naneki Neko, also known as Maneki Neko, is a Japanese cat figurine believed to bring good luck and prosperity to its owner. The origins of Maneki Neko date back to the Edo period in Japan, and there are several legends about its origins. One legend states that the figurine originated at the Gōtoku-ji temple in Tokyo, where a cat saved the life of a local ruler by beckoning him into the temple during a lightning storm. Other legends attribute the origins of Maneki Neko to a cat that appeared in a dream to an older woman who was struggling financially and instructed her to make figurines in its image.
