Spotify Engineering Culture
Spotify is known for having a unique engineering culture that emphasizes autonomy, mastery, and purpose. Engineers at Spotify are given a high degree of independence to work on projects they are passionate about that align with the company’s mission. They are also encouraged to continue developing their skills and expertise through regular training and development opportunities. Additionally, Spotify’s engineering culture strongly emphasizes collaboration and cross-functional teams, aiming to foster a culture of innovation and experimentation. This culture is supported by a flat organizational structure, with small, autonomous groups working together to deliver high-quality products and services to users.
These videos are snapshots of Spotify’s approach to software engineering and people management in 2014. It has since come to be known as the “Spotify Model.””
