Amazon’s Announcement on Grocery Delivery Without Prime Membership
Amazon has expanded its Amazon Fresh grocery delivery and pickup services to all customers in the U.S. cities and towns where Amazon Fresh is available, previously exclusive to Prime members. This expansion makes grocery shopping more accessible for all in-store and online customers. Claire Peters, Vice President of Amazon Fresh, emphasizes this as a step towards offering a top-notch grocery shopping experience with great selection, value, and convenience.
Additionally, Amazon announced that customers can now order delivery from various local grocery and specialty retailers through Amazon.com, including Bristol Farms and Cardenas Markets. The expansion will soon include grocery delivery and free pickup from Whole Foods Market for non-Prime members. Prime members will continue to enjoy exclusive discounts and offers, including free shipping on Amazon Fresh delivery orders over $100.
Amazon is also re-imagining its Amazon Fresh stores in Los Angeles, following successful redesigns in Chicago. The updated Pasadena, Irvine, and Woodland Hills stores will feature over 2,000 new products, a Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop, and more, offering everyday sales and low prices on core grocery items. These stores will also provide customers with additional convenient shopping and checkout options, including the latest version of the Dash Cart and self-checkout.
The company plans to continue opening new stores in 2024, introducing new features and programs to serve customers better. Ahead of the holidays, Amazon Fresh will offer significant deals for customers in-store and online, along with free Amazon package return and pickup service at Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market stores.
