Kitopi’s Fresh Take: Partnering with Fresh On Table for Sustainable Sourcing
Dubai-based cloud kitchen firm Kitopi has taken a significant step towards sustainability by partnering with the UAE-based agri-tech platform Fresh On Table. This collaboration will enhance Kitopi’s commitment to sustainable sourcing by utilizing fresh local ingredients from nearby farms, which aligns with their sustainability initiatives. The partnership will reduce the need for extensive transportation, reducing food miles and CO₂ emissions. Kitopi’s supply chain senior director, Kunal Gupta, emphasized the multiple benefits of this approach, including fresher ingredients for consumers and a substantial reduction in the company’s carbon footprint. Fresh On Table’s integration with Kitopi’s operations will also provide comprehensive traceability of the sourced produce, allowing for monitoring of the ingredients’ journey and the food miles saved. Atul Chopra, founder and CEO of Fresh On Table, highlighted that this move contributes to a healthier planet and offers a competitive edge by delivering maximum nutrition with minimal emissions. Additionally, this initiative is expected to boost local farms and support the nation’s food security mission. This news comes on the heels of Kitopi’s impressive $415 million Series C funding round last month to support its expansion plans.
