Rebel Foods is a technology-enabled food company based in India. It operates a cloud kitchen model, a centralized commercial kitchen that delivers food via online platforms like Zomato, Swiggy, and its website. With this model, they operate multiple virtual brands under one roof. They strongly focus on providing diverse cuisines and local flavors in their virtual brands.
Rebel Foods was founded in 2010 by serial entrepreneurs Jugnoo Mehta, Rohan Arora, and Jaydeep Barman. The company started as a small food delivery business in Mumbai, India, and has since grown into one of India’s largest food companies, with over 1000 cloud kitchens across more than 100 cities in India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Dubai.
The company also operates its delivery fleet and has its loyalty program named “Rebel Cash,” which is used as a currency within the platform.
In 2021, Rebel Foods raised $125 million in series E funding, which took the company’s valuation to $525 million.
