CloudKitchens, a service owned by Uber founder and ex-CEO Travis Kalanick, is facing criticism over the safety and technical support provided to its restaurant operators. The company, which offers delivery-only kitchens in rented warehouse spaces with low startup fees, has been accused of not providing the on-site maintenance, cleaning, and trash services it promises. Three former sales agents at CloudKitchens claimed that 70% of kitchen operators at their locations left within a year of starting. At the same time, another salesperson said that 90% of their operators quit within three months. The company has also faced four lawsuits in the past year, with operators accusing CloudKitchens of deceptive business practices. Another report from Insider highlighted a high turnover rate and a misogynistic internal work culture at the company.
